Boyd Lee Park was the stage for the first autism walk and resource fair. About 800 people walked a mile. Then they had the chance to learn more about what help is available to people who care for those living with autism. It is a sometimes hidden social communications disorder that affects many people.
Ronda Hall represents the Pitt County Chapter of the Autism Society of America. She says “[With] Autism, you can look at a child and they look just like every other child, you may not realize they have autism, they need some extra allowances.”
