Cancer Society schedules Relay for Life fundraiser
The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life will start at 7 p.m. April 24 and conclude at 7 a.m. April 25 at The Outlet Shoppes at El Paso, 7051 S. Desert.
Relay For Life is a community event that brings together cancer survivors, caregivers, families and friends to honor survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer and to raise money for cancer fighting research.

Medicare provider to offer veggies with seminars
Care Improvement Plus will provide information sessions for El Paso Medicare beneficiaries with chronic illness at 11 a.m. Monday, April 15 and April 20 at at the Holiday Inn Express, 409 E. Missouri.
The sessions will include tips on nutrition and fitness; information on Care Improvement Plus' Medicare Special Needs Plan; and a farmers market. Admission and farmers market produce are free.

Care center to be topic at Alzheimer's lunch session
The Alzheimer's Association will provide information on the Volar Center for Independent Living as part of the Brown Bag Lunch Series, from 11 a.m. to noon April 14 at Global Hospice, 1817 Wyoming.
Programs coordinator Jose Lara will speak. The event is free, but donations will be accepted.

Children's center to host mental health academy

The Paso del Norte Children's Development Center, 1101 E. Schuster, will host the Leadership Academy for Families With Mental Health Challenges from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays and Wednesdays, through April 22.
The cost is $30. No child care is available.
