AUSTIN, Texas — A virus has hit the Texas Department of Public Safety computer system but a spokeswoman said at no time was citizen safety compromised.
DPS spokeswoman Tela Mange said in a statement that the virus that hit Wednesday affected internal communications and some external services such as the issuance of Texas drivers' licenses.
The DPS police enforcement communications network was not affected.
Mange said officials were working to restore services.
